Immaculate Healthcare

I did an energy assessment survey for a hospital. This required us to walk the entire facilities, from the trauma center to the rooftops. This is what I found in the basement. There are endless rows of shelves housing medical records, which I’m sure no one has touched in ages. The next room over has a door that leads to a pit that houses some pumps and other miscellaneous equipment. Large cockroaches rule this room, and if you stand still long enough, they will climb your legs. What’s even more disgusting? Our guide told use used condoms have been found in this room.

Future Improvements/Changes: I would love to have free reign to photograph an old hospital like this, but that’s never going to happen. I wasn’t at the hospital for a photo shoot. I was there for taking record shots for the survey, so white balance was left on auto mode. Not changing it as I went inside and outside, I didn’t account for the fluorescent lighting, which tinted everything green. I really wish I had changed the white filter on this to get the colors on the folders close to what my eye was able to see, but I tweaked the file in Photoshop to get a better feel for the correct colors.
